Lake Granbury’s normal water clarity is clear to stained with fluctuation 1 ft. or less. The lake a long reservoir with mostly rocky bluffs. Unfortunately Lake Granbury is susceptible to golden alga blooms. It has occurred in the past and has damaged the fishing environment. Small amounts of aquatic vegetation and small amounts of timber is offset by other structure, mainly boat houses and piers, along with fish-attracting structures installed by the TPWD. Largemouth bass, catfish, white and striped bass and sunfish are rated good with crappie rated fair.
