Lake Fork’s normal water clarity is moderately clear with fluctuation 2-4 ft. annually. The lake is one of the premier big bass lakes in the nation. Abundant habitat has contributed to Lake Fork’s development as a trophy lake. Largemouth bass and catfish are rated excellent, crappie and sunfish rated good and white bass rated fair. All the best structure is found in the lake. The TPWD has installed man-made fish attractors at strategic points.
“Lake Fork is THE Texas Trophy bass lake. Annually stocked with hefty growing Florida-strain largemouth bass, the lake boasts the most Sharelunker catches in the programs history. That means Fork produces more 13+ pound bass than any other lake in Texas. The great management in play from the Texas Park and Wildlife Department also ensures that the numbers of bass caught are equally impressive.”
