Lake Austin’s water clarity is clear to slightly stained with fluctuation constant-level. Lake Austin is fed by several major creeks. Underwater brush piles are located in key places to attract fish and provide cover. Boulders, rock slides off bluffs and numerous boat docks provide additional cover. Night fishing in the summer is popular because of heavy daytime recreational boating activity. Largemouth bass are rated excellent, sunfish good, catfish fair.
