Lake Alan Henry’s water clarity is murky to clear with water fluctuation moderate, 2-4 ft. per year. The lake is best known for its lunker-sized largemouth bass, it’s most popular species of fish. Texas’ ShareLunker program has benefited from a number of 13-pound or larger bass caught here. Alabama spotted bass, a species that grows much faster and larger than Texas’ native spotted bass, were stocked early on. Crappie are also abundant, although this lake holds no crappie or walleye. Smallmouth bass were stocked but the population remains small.
