Fairfield Lake’s normal water clarity is moderately clear with fluctuation 4 ft. annually. The lake has received numerous fish kills (latest occurred in 2014) that have severely damaged the fishing experience. A power plant lake, the warm water in combination with shorter days in late summer lead to a shortage of oxygen in the water. There is an abundance of aquatic vegetation with inundated timber in the upper end and in some coves. All species are rated poor.
