Champion Creek Reservoir

Champion Creek Reservoir’s normal water clarity is clear to very turbid with fluctuation extreme, up to 10 feet annually. The fishery is rebuilding after an extensive golden alga bloom in 2014. Largemouth bass, catfish and crappie are rated fair with white bass and sunfish rated poor. There is no aquatic vegetation but does have a variety of structure in the form of mud flats with flooded salt cedar and mesquite, rip rap, humps, deep rocky drop-offs and ledges and a few old tank dams.
