Aquilla Lake’s normal clarity is stained. Water fluctuation is 3-4 feet. Standing timber populates both creek arms but fishing is limited because of shallow water. The TPWD has planted fish attractors on specific points around the lake. Tree lines, fence rows, creek channels, submerged brush and large isolated trees provide structure. Catfish and crappie are rated good, largemouth bass, white bass and sunfish are rated fair.
